This site has been created for Schools, BOT's, Teachers, Students, Architects, Property Managers, and anyone interested in the development of educational facilities. We have established a need to be more informed about the process of developing educational facilities as they have such a significant impact on the way learning can take place.

Rationale: Pedagogy and learning theories have been the focus of many education philosophers over the past century. The effects of such research have influenced the way in which educators are currently basing their curriculum development and practice. This combined with global developments in technology has had a huge impact on the way schools organise and support children’s learning. Although teacher's pedagogy is changing to meet the needs of these theories, quite often they are restricted in their efforts by the physical environments in which they practice.

The objective of the authors of this site is to provide a transparent and informative view of how educational facilities are designed and developed to meet the needs of their intended stakeholders. This information will be presented in a number of forms including the way new facilities are created, the redevelopment of existing facilities, information useful for facility development, research on these developments, links to useful information from national and international projects.
